Creating a NetSuite Integration Record

Connecting NetXcel to NetSuite starts in NetSuite, not NetXcel. Create an Integration Record first, it generates the credentials NetXcel needs. Requires the NetSuite Administrator role, or a role with the "Integration Application" permission. Most NetXcel users don't have this. If that's you, ask your NetSuite admin, often a different person than your NetXcel admin, to do this step or hand you the credentials. Not sure which method to ask for? Create the record

Go to Setup, Integration, Manage Integrations, New. Name it something recognizable, like "NetXcel Production." Leave State as Enabled. Open the Authentication subtab and enable one of NetXcel's four connection methods. Two need an extra step:

• Token-Based Authentication (TBA): enable TBA, save, copy the Consumer Key and Secret. Then go to Setup, Users/Roles, Access Tokens, New. Select this integration and your role, save, copy the Token ID and Secret. NetXcel needs all four, plus your Account ID.
• Machine to Machine: enable the Machine to Machine grant, save, copy the Client ID and Secret. Upload a public certificate to the same record, copy the Certificate ID. NetXcel needs the Client ID, Secret, Certificate ID, and Account ID.
• User Authorization (REST APIs): enable the Authorization Code grant, add NetXcel's callback URL, save, copy the Client ID and Secret. NetXcel needs those plus your Account ID, then opens a browser window to authorize.
• User Authorization (AI Connector): enable the Authorization Code grant for AI/MCP access, save, copy the Client ID and Secret. NetXcel needs those plus your Account ID, then opens a browser window to authorize.

Save your credentials immediately

NetSuite shows each credential exactly once, right after you save. Copy it immediately. Navigate away first, and you'll have to reset it, which invalidates the old one.
